On July 21st, the Bodhi Meditation Silicon Valley Center was beautifully adorned, exuding an aura of peace and tranquility. Both old and new friends gathered to celebrate the “Enlightenment Day of Guanyin Bodhisattva (Avalokitesvara)” and “Bodhi Meditation Day.”

Our guests were greeted by our hospitable volunteers. Bubble making was enjoyed by young and old.

The celebration commenced with a video message from Carmen Montano, the mayor of Milpitas, where the meditation center is located. The mayor congratulated the Bodhi Meditation Silicon Valley Center on Bodhi Meditation Day’s anniversary and expressed gratitude for its outstanding contributions to the physical and mental well-being of the community.

Maricris Morrison, the Director of Pacific Clinics – a local non-profit with a six-year partnership with Bodhi Meditation, also attended the event, conveying the staff’s love and appreciation for Bodhi Meditation.

Our meditation teachers performed a group energy healing for the guests, helping everyone relax, find joy, and attain health.

The activity hall featured a stunning six-meter-tall Thangka of the Eleven-Faced Guanyin Bodhisattva (Avalokitesvara) and a Thangka of the God of Wealth (Yellow Jambhala), radiating immense compassionate energy that deeply moved many participants during their worship. Offering respect to a Thangka can quickly connect you with the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. By providing Thangkas with devotion, one can receive the Buddha’s blessings and protection, leading to clarity of mind and the expansion of wisdom.

The meditation teachers provided consultations, and one-on-one energy healings, with guests actively seeking their guidance.

All arts and crafts activities in the Culture Fair were offered free of charge. The selection included Calligraphy, Zen SandBox,  Guanyin Coloring Book, Bookmark Drawing, Bracelet Making,  Creative Wall Art, and a new craft, Lacquer Fans, inspired by the cultural heritage of Jiangsu, China, Lacquer Art. These activities seamlessly blended dharma culture with traditional Chinese craftsmanship. Enthusiastic volunteers guided the guests through each project, and participants were thoroughly engaged in their creative endeavors. Each booth was bustling with visitors, and even after the festival ended, many guests lingered to continue enjoying the activities.

The afternoon Culture Fair was vibrant and filled with laughter. The impressive stage performances featured solo singing, guitar solo, and a beautiful GuZheng performance. Interactive games like the slow walking contest and staring contest brought waves of laughter. The Bodhi Meditation Dance Team performed gracefully to the song “Big Fish” sung by the Grandmaster, bringing the event to a high point.

The Bodhi Meditation Food Court showcased a dozen types of delicious vegetarian dishes. Many guests enjoyed the food so much that they bought extra portions to take home and share with their families.

As the event came to a close, guests lingered to offer another flower, create another craft, or sample another dish. Everyone experienced genuine joy, shared by one and all.
