My name is Cora and I am a senior computer-aided design engineer in Silicon Valley. In August , Bodhi Meditation came to my company, Marvell Semiconductor Inc., to teach meditation twice a week. Several meditation methods were taught including Energy Bagua, Meditation of Purity, Meditation of Wisdom Awaking, and Meditation of Bone Melting. Back then I had sleep problems due to work stress and a busy schedule.  I really needed meditation to alleviate my problems. However, because of my tight schedule, I was only able to attend one class per week.  I soon realized that every time I practiced the Meditation of Bone Melting at work, I fell asleep immediately. Then around November, I started listening to the soundtrack of Bone Melting to improve my sleep, and it worked, even though I still occasionally woke up in the middle of the night.

I’m an exerciser and outdoor enthusiast. I love sports, hiking, cycling, yoga, aerobics, samba, snowboarding, and diving. In October, I injured both knees because of a fall.  Two months after the accident, I still couldn’t do any exercise, except a little walking. Not being able to exercise made me go a little crazy. On January 5 of next year, I went to Bodhi Meditation to take a Stress Reduction Class ( the first two days of the Health and Happiness Retreat). Since I only had limited time off, I was careful not to use it excessively. I didn’t want to take 5 days off for a meditation class. At the end of the first day of class, my back and knees were tired, but I felt much better the next day. Another surprise was that I really enjoyed the lectures given by Master JinBodhi. Since I was curious to see the results of the other students, I decided to attend the last day of the class. I saw that those who had to lie down during class because of physical discomfort could now sit down. It was really amazing to see such a transformation. 

The following two weekends, other practitioners told me that walking Energy Bagua was very helpful for bones and joints. In order to recover as soon as possible,  I went to the meditation center to practice Energy Bagua every morning at 6 or 7 o’clock, and also joined the “108 Day Meditation Challenge” group to motivate myself. After just two weeks of Energy Bagua, my knees were getting much better and I could resume Samba dance. I continued to practice Energy Bagua daily, and in February I attended the Energy Bagua Class. I used to be out of breath whenever I danced, and I had to drink water every 5-10 minutes for a break. I thought that was caused by my severe anemia. However, after practicing Energy Bagua for two or three months, I noticed that I didn’t need to stop until after 20-30 minutes of dancing. And when I stopped, it was only because of thirst, not because I needed to rest. I felt I had more energy and my endurance had improved.  After six months of Energy Bagua, my knees were much stronger and I felt five years younger.  Furthermore, I used to take calcium supplements for my knees every day. Since I started practicing Energy Bagua a year ago, I’ve stopped needing to take calcium. Energy Bagua has enabled me to enjoy sports more.

I hope that others can benefit from the Bone Melting method and Energy Bagua just like I did. I volunteered in different meditation promotional activities to spread the word,  I volunteered to lead several meditation practices at work including a weekly afternoon deep relaxation practice (Bone Melting and Purity) and Energy Bagua at 8 o’clock every morning.

Over the past year, I have witnessed many people’s physical and spiritual improvement through meditation. In order to deepen my understanding of Bodhi Meditation, I finally decided to take time off for the 8.5-day Health and Happiness Retreat and 7-day Chanting Class. This decision was absolutely a surprise to my family and friends. From those classes, I strengthened my stamina and learned effective techniques to help process negative emotions and relationships. Bodhi Meditation is easy to learn and gives quick results. Give yourself a little time to learn meditation, whether it’s Energy Bagua, Bone Melting, Meditation of Greater Illumination, or Chanting or Prostration. By practicing every day, you’ll see good results. I believe the effects are greater when combining different meditation methods, so I also added Greater Illumination to my daily routine.

I love coming to Bodhi Meditation Center for meditation because I enjoy the teachings of Grandmaster JinBodhi, who gives me great enlightenment and life inspirations. My favorite phrase from the Master is “Kind heart, kind words, kind deeds “. Indeed, everyone at Bodhi Meditation Center takes care of each other and it makes me happy to be part of this family. I will come to Bodhi Meditation Center as frequently as time allows.
