To celebrate the birth of the Buddha, Bodhi Meditation Silicon Valley Center held a Joyful Bathing Buddha Carnival on May 11.
Guests came forward one after another to wash their hands in the golden basin, bathe the Baby Buddha, make wishes in front of the Buddha, seek energy blessings, consult oracles, hoping to bathe themselves in the wisdom and illumination of the Buddha, transforming worries, frustrations, and sufferings into joy and peace.
Amidst the anticipation of our guests, the unveiling ceremony of the bronze gilded statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, bestowed with the name “Supreme Radiance” by Grandmaster JinBodhi, took place at the altar. The golden Buddha statue, noble and dignified, radiated a compassionate and auspicious light, nurturing all beings. With sincerity and gratitude, everyone paid respect, chanted Buddha’s name, and made offerings to Shakyamuni Buddha. All the guests sang “A Hymn to the Buddha” by Grandmaster JinBodhi. Every single word of the lyrics expresses our gratitude to the Buddha. Guests paid respect to the “Buddha’s Life” Thangka, offered khatas to the Buddha. Joyfully celebrating the Buddha’s birthday while sincerely expressing gratitude to the Buddha.
In front of the wishing wall, people wrote down their wishes, praying to receive blessings from the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, strengthening their faith in life. The compassion of the Buddha touched everyone. A 7-year-old girl wished for happiness for everyone in the world. Lots of people seek consultation through divine oracles.
Guests received the dual blessings of Amitabha Buddha and Manjushri Bodhisattva for health, happiness, and wisdom.
The fun began with a great variety of activities for guests, young and old, to dine and have fun.
Traditional Chinese cultural activities and games kept both adults and children thoroughly entertained.
Surprise appearances by Money Goddess, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Monkey King, and Tang Sanzang brought laughter to the venue.
